- Tembo will accept Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin for customer and partner payments worldwide.
- The move aligns with VivoPower’s XRP-focused digital asset strategy and treasury plan.
VivoPower International said its Tembo e-LV subsidiary will accept Ripple USD, or RLUSD, for payments from customers and partners effective immediately.
The company cited faster settlement and lower costs for cross-border transfers as the rationale for adding a stablecoin option on September 8, 2025. Tembo operates across Southeast Asia, Africa and the Middle East, where traditional wires can be slow and expensive.
Tembo adds RLUSD settlement option for customers across Asia, Africa and the Middle East
RLUSD is a U.S. dollar-pegged stablecoin issued by Ripple. It is designed to be redeemable one for one with dollars and is backed by cash and cash equivalents including short-term U.S. Treasuries.
The token is issued natively on the XRP Ledger and on Ethereum, allowing settlements to clear at network speed with on-chain finality. VivoPower said these characteristics support near-instant funds transfers and could reduce total costs compared with conventional correspondent banking.

VivoPower advances XRP-focused treasury strategy with stablecoin payments
The company framed Tembo’s acceptance of RLUSD as part of a broader strategic shift toward an XRP-focused digital asset enterprise. VivoPower has described plans to manage and hold XRP as a core treasury asset and to support infrastructure and applications on the XRP Ledger.
Adding an RLUSD payment rail extends that approach into operating cash flows at Tembo while leaving existing fiat invoicing in place. For Tembo’s global counterparties, the new option introduces a dollar-denominated instrument that can move across public networks and be settled without intermediaries.
Ripple states that RLUSD is fully backed and redeemable and notes that availability depends on local rules, which will influence where customers can use the token. Enterprises using RLUSD can route transactions over the XRP Ledger or Ethereum depending on connectivity, custody and exchange support in each market.
The deployment follows a period of growing circulation for RLUSD. Recent industry data placed the token’s supply above the $500 million mark within months of launch, with issuance on both networks supporting liquidity across venues. Market trackers have also reported that a majority of circulating RLUSD currently resides on Ethereum, reflecting the size of that ecosystem.
The announcement was amplified on X by company channels and market commentators, highlighting Tembo’s intention to accept RLUSD and pointing to VivoPower’s Nasdaq-listed status. These posts drew attention to the press release and linked to the company statement.
