- Sui and Alibaba Cloud introduce an AI coding assistant for Move in ChainIDE with multilingual support.
- The tool generates Move code from plain language and adds autocomplete, security checks and documentation.
Sui and Alibaba Cloud announced on August 27 an AI coding assistant designed to help developers build on Sui’s Move smart contract language through ChainIDE. The launch targets faster onboarding and streamlined workflows for Web3 teams.
ChainIDE adds Alibaba Cloud assistant to generate Move code from prompts
The assistant is integrated directly into ChainIDE, a primary development environment for Sui projects, and can produce Move modules from natural-language instructions.
Beyond code generation, the tool offers intelligent autocomplete, real-time security checks and automatic documentation creation to reduce routine tasks across the development cycle.
Sui’s developer resources highlight ChainIDE among the core tooling used across the ecosystem, underscoring why embedding an assistant at the IDE layer could matter for everyday contributors.
Centralising AI support within the browser-based IDE is intended to keep developers in flow while scaffolding contracts, reviewing suggestions and addressing linting or basic safety prompts before code reaches repositories or audits.
Sui and Alibaba Cloud state English, Chinese and Korean support for developers
The companies said the assistant supports English, Chinese and Korean, aiming to lower language frictions for contributors across Asian and global markets that are active in Sui’s builder community.
Multilingual responses inside the IDE are positioned to help teams standardise patterns and documentation while collaborating across regions. The initiative builds on Alibaba Cloud’s recent push to productise AI coding capabilities that include chat, multi-file edits and agent-style task execution.
While the firms did not disclose model specifications for the Sui integration, Alibaba Cloud’s publicly documented coding stack indicates a focus on code completion and assisted refactoring that aligns with the features highlighted for Move developers.
Move is already a powerhouse.

For Sui, the move extends a pattern of developer-facing investments that began with earlier collaborations around hackathons, documentation translation and AI-enabled environments. In practical terms, the assistant may compress the learning curve for Move.
This differs materially from EVM-centric workflows, by giving newcomers promptable templates and inline guidance as they experiment with ownership types and resource safety features.
From a market structure perspective, this release places Sui in a wider race among layer-ones and cloud providers to pair infrastructure with application-layer tooling. For engineering leads, the near-term questions are operational rather than promotional.
These include how the assistant handles project context, whether enterprise users can constrain suggestions to vetted codebases, and what telemetry or privacy controls govern prompts in shared environments.
The answers will determine how quickly larger teams permit AI-assisted changes in regulated or security-sensitive deployments.
Developers can access the assistant via ChainIDE immediately, with the firms signalling ongoing updates as the integration evolves across supported languages and features.
By press time, SUI is trading around $3.44, reflecting a rise of between +0.63% to +0.66% in the last 24 hours, with the day’s range spanning $3.36 to $3.50.
